The Memory Salon,
an interdisciplinary evening exploring memory
Concept, Organization & Production
Together with Arif and Jona we hosted The Memory Salon — an evening exploring the space between memory and dream. This event combined a hands-on workshop with both visual and musical performances.
Through analogue dia slides and projectors, participants were invited to work with expired film slides, scratching and drawing into the surface so that light could pass through. When projected, these marks transformed into luminous traces, visualizing personal dreams.
The visuals were accompanied by a live sound performance by Elin Mensinga & Fien Vasse, creating an immersive atmosphere in which dreams could be collectively experienced, shared, and archived.
Some memories feel like dreams. Some dreams feel like memories.
The Memory Salon was an open, informal gathering — with drinks, conversation, and good company — inviting all kinds of dreamers to explore this in-between state.

The salon was inspired by the exhibition In Between Worlds by Shani Leseman, shown at 38CC Delft.
